Isolated in this place
This heart that I cannot out run
It finds me in every place I try to hide
I see flashing lights around me
Warning me to slow
Calm and still my tired legs and arms
My lungs my heart my head
And I scream in ways I’ve never heard before
And there is no one to witness
Stacked high with sheets of paper
My eyes poured liquid and not sure of what it was,
It crinkled the sheets
Smeared the ink
And I’m still trying to piece it all together
The damage is done
